Boron toxicity tolerance in barley may be related to intrinsically higher levels of reactive oxygen species in the shoots

چکیده
There is considerable intra-and interspecific variation in boron (B) toxicity tolerance crop plants. In this study, we aimed to investigate the mechanisms involved excess B barley (Hordeum vulgare) early stages of plant development. To do this, B-sensitive (B?lb?l-89) and B-tolerant (Tarm-92) cultivars were grown hydroponically under control stress conditions (10 mM H3BO3) for 4 or 7 days. The hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), malondialdehyde (MDA), total phenolic, flavonoid, anthocyanin, proline, sugar contents, as well DPPH radical scavenging capacity, then determined both cultivars. Our results showed that treatment led significant increases concentration exposure times. However, there no drastic differences roots shoots between sensitive tolerant While dry root weight B?lb?l-89 was reduced after days (p < 0.05), such a decrease not observed Tarm-92. H2O2, MDA, sugar, anthocyanin contents increased considerably response during at least one period 0.05). H2O2 content Tarm-92 significantly greater than B?lb?l-89, but difference MDA capacity two Finally, 35% increase found flavonoid seedlings exposed conclusion, findings study suggest may be related their tolerate higher levels reactive oxygen species.

Role of Caspases and Reactive Oxygen Species in Rose Bengal-Induced Toxicity in Melanoma Cells
Objective We have previously shown that Rose Bengal (RB) alone, not as a photosensitiser, could induce apoptotic- and non-apoptotic cell death in different melanoma cell lines. To clarify RB-induced toxicity mechanisms, role of caspases and reactive oxygen specious (ROS) were studied in melanoma cells. Material and Methods Human melanoma cell lines, Me 4405 and Sk-Mel-28 were cultured in DM...

from linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar
chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...

Boron toxicity tolerance in barley through reduced expression of the multifunctional aquaporin HvNIP2;1.
Boron (B) toxicity is a significant limitation to cereal crop production in a number of regions worldwide. Here we describe the cloning of a gene from barley (Hordeum vulgare), underlying the chromosome 6H B toxicity tolerance quantitative trait locus. It is the second B toxicity tolerance gene identified in barley. Previously, we identified the gene Bot1 that functions as an efflux transporter...
