Blockchain-Based Method for Pre-Authentication and Handover Authentication of IoV Vehicles

The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is an important supporting technology for intelligent transportation systems that connects traffic participants, such as vehicles, pedestrians, and roads, through wireless networks enables information exchange to enhance safety improve efficiency. IoV a unique network involves many security risks, which must be controlled authentication, encryption, other protective measures. To solve problems, high computing overhead low handover authentication efficiency the existing vehicle access IoV, compact consensus pre-authentication method was designed based on blockchain features decentralization security. proposed ensuring reduces time, saves resources, effectively solves problems cost communication arising from frequent handovers. A performance analysis demonstrates our approach can reduce computational by up 88.14% more than 60% roadside unit (RSU). overall solution reduced 71.31%. data illustrate safely significantly authentication.
