Blockage effect influence on model-scale marine propeller performance and cavitation pattern

چکیده
The blockage effect is one of the drawbacks in use cavitation tunnels, which may considerably interfere measurements hydrodynamics model-scale propellers. literature presents some methods to correct acquired values, such as Glauert method, but deduction this method does not consider effects. This paper aims CFD tools compare and analyze different levels blockages on thrust, torque, hydrodynamic efficiency, two marine Five ratios (from 1% 41%) three test cases are simulated, varying advance ratio compose propeller performance diagram. simulations have shown that formula satisfactorily corrected even moderate cavitation. When intense, it observed decreases thrust being recommended formula. It sensitive blockage, can affect its pattern blade surface.
