Blazars at Very High Energies: Emission Modelling
نویسندگان
چکیده
Blazars are very broadband cosmic sources with spectra spanning over twenty orders of magnitude in frequency, down to the 100 MHz regime radio range, up VHE at several tens TeV. The modelling their spectral energy distribution high energies currently considers two main classes models, leptonic and lepto-hadronic, which both succeed fairly well describing observed for populations blazars, namely BL Lac objects (BL Lacs) flat spectrum quasars (FSRQs). However they confronted difficulties, particular reproduce flaring phenomena monitored a good multi-spectral temporal coverage, or extreme challenge basic descriptions. Such situation has led diversity specific scenarios, positioning relation general context is generally not clearly fixed. identification dominant particle acceleration mechanism work better understanding location TeV emitting zone would make it possible break degeneracies between models. Multi-wavelength multi-messenger studies should also help this regard, perspective elaborate reference scenario blazars AGNs.

Muon Collider Physics at Very High Energies
Muon colliders might greatly extend the energy frontier of collider physics. One can contemplate circular colliders with center-of-mass energies in excess of 10 TeV. Some physics issues that might be relevant at such a machine are discussed.
متن کاملIntrinsic Constraints on Very High Energy Emission in Gamma-ray Loud Blazars
Photons with very high energy up to TeV (VHE) emitted from active galactic nuclei (AGNs) provide some invaluable information of the origin of γ-ray emission. Although 66 blazars have been detected by EGRET, only three low redshift X-ray selected BL Lacs (Mrk 421, Mrk 501, and 1ES 2344+514) are conclusive TeV emitters (PKS 2155-304 is a potential TeV emitter) since VHE photons may be absorbed by...
متن کاملMultiplicity Distributions in Qcd at Very High Energies
It is shown that QCD is able to predict very tiny features of multiplicity distributions at very high energies which demonstrate that the negative binomial distribution (and, more generally speaking, any infinitely divisible distribution) is inappropriate for precise description of experimental data. New precise fits of high energy multiplicity distributions can be derived. In this report, I br...
متن کاملExtragalactic diffuse gamma-ray emission at high energies
A diffuse and approximately isotropic high-energy photon background has been known to exist in the xray regime since 1962 [1] and a similar background was observed by the SAS-2 satellite at high energies [2]. Generally, isotropic or nearly isotropic emission may arise from extragalactic sources or an extended halo around the galaxy. It may result from superposition of many unresolved point sour...
