Biotechnological Approaches to Increase the Bacterial and Fungal Disease Resistance in Potato

Potato (Solanum tuberosum) is a valuable cultivated vegetable with high nutritional qualities containing variety of essential ingredients such as starch, vitamins and minerals. However cultivating potatoes significantly complicated by diseases caused number phytopathogens both bacterial fungal nature. Phytophthora infestan s, Alternaria sp., Phoma exigua , Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium Verticillium Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus, Pectobacterium Dickeya sp. are considered amongst the most dangerous phytopathogens. This paper reviews latest biotechnological approaches to creation potato plants resistant wide range pathogens. In particular, possibilities applying genetic engineering methods obtain pathogens, Solanum venture, S. mochiquence, demissum, bulbocastanum; avirulence genes; genes antimicrobial peptides plant, animal origin transferring resistance ( R -genes) isolated from systematically related species into their genome. The review states that marker-assisted selection suitable for obtaining varieties tuberosum phytopathogens, where -genes or QTL regions can act markers. Prospects use genome editing technology using CRISPR/Cas9 TALEN systems one newest creating phytopathogen-resistant have been considered. Achievements successes in this way these analyzed detailed review.
