چکیده

Ecuador is responsible for up to 70 % of the world’s production fine flavor cocoa. Although fungal diseases have reduced cocoa production, eco–friendly alternatives been implemented control spread phytopathogens. This study aimed explore potential endophytic strains isolated from Nacional trees synthetize compounds with antimicrobial and surface active properties. It was determined that under in vitro conditions, seven (DS03, DS07, DS18, DS23, DS31, DS34 DS50) exhibited antifungal activity inhibited mycelial growth Moniliophthora roreri perniciosa. The were identified based on their morphological (pattern forming Bacilli) genetic characteristics using 16S SSU rRNA gene sequences. Furthermore, we contained genes encoded lipopeptides Fengycin (fenA, fenB, fenC, fenE), Iturin (ituB, ituC, ituD), Bacyllomicin D (bamC, bamD). biosurfactant by a reduction tension mineral medium. Additionally, crude extract (BCE) tested its inhibitory against M. perniciosa roreri. minimal concentration (MIC) be 0.07 0.035 mg mL−1, respectively, both cases fungistatic action mode. swelling granulation fragmentation phytopathogens’ hyphae observed BCE treatment. These results suggested biocontrol capacity strains, which ability synthesize might used as an ecological alternative plants prevent infection

The causal agents of witches' broom and frosty pod rot of cacao (chocolate, Theobroma cacao) form a new lineage of Marasmiaceae.

The two most devastating diseases of cacao (Theobroma cacao)--the source of chocolate--in tropical America are caused by the fungi Crinipellis perniciosa (witches' broom disease) and Moniliophthora roreri (frosty pod rot or moniliasis disease). Despite the agricultural, socio-economic and environmental impact of these fungi, most aspects of their life cycles are unknown, and the phylogenetic re...

Genetic diversity of polysporic isolates of Moniliophthora perniciosa (Tricholomataceae).

The causal agent of witches' broom disease, Moniliophthora perniciosa is a hemibiotrophic and endemic fungus of the Amazon basin and the most important cocoa disease in Brazil. The purpose of this study was to analyze the genetic diversity of polysporic isolates of M. perniciosa to evaluate the adaptation of the pathogen from different Brazilian regions and its association with different ...

Endophytic and pathogenic isolates of the cacao fungal pathogen Moniliophthora perniciosa (Tricholomataceae) are indistinguishable based on genetic and physiological analysis.

We evaluated the genetic and physiological variability of Moniliophthora perniciosa obtained from healthy and diseased branches of cacao (Theobroma cacao) plants. The diversity of the isolates was evaluated by RAPD technique and by studies of virulence and exoenzyme production. The genetic variability of endophytic and pathogenic M. perniciosa was evaluated in association with pathogenicity ass...

Purification, characterization and structural determination of chitinases produced by Moniliophthora perniciosa.

The enzyme chitinase from Moniliophthora perniciosa the causative agent of the witches' broom disease in Theobroma cacao, was partially purified with ammonium sulfate and filtration by Sephacryl S-200 using sodium phosphate as an extraction buffer. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine the optimum pH and temperature conditions. Four different isoenzymes were obtained: ChitMp ...

Biodiversity and biogeography of the cacao (Theobroma cacao) pathogen Moniliophthora roreri in tropical America

Moniliophthora roreri , the cause of moniliasis or frosty pod rot, occurs on the neotropical rainforest genera Theobroma and Herrania . While this basidiomycete has had devastating effects on the cacao tree ( T. cacao ) in tropical America, where it is confined, little is known of its biogeography and intraspecific genetic variability. Here, AFLP and ISSR profiles of 94 isolates of M. roreri fr...
