This study aims to synthesize and characterize silver particles using Porang leaf extract (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) determine the selectivity of as mercury metal ion detectors. The employed a bioreductor stabilizer, 0.01M AgNO3 solution precursor, HgCl2 salt PbCl2 standard solutions be tested for selectivity. 2 g leaves used were cleaned, cut into pieces, allowed stand at room temperature three days, mashed. powder was added with 50 mL demineralized water then heated 15 minutes 80°C. reaction particle formation carried out by adding in variations 1:3, 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:7, irradiating under indirect sunlight minutes. results mixture colloidal showed change color brownish-yellow. indicated particles. characterized UV-Vis spectrophotometer after heating, 1 hour, 5 hours temperature. obtained can synthesized optimum 1:3 1:4. PSa formed micro-nano-sized against ions that selectively detect Hg (II) compared Pb solutions.
