چکیده

This study evaluated the potential of using poly(lactic acid)/poly(e-caprolactone) (PLA/PCL) blends for fused filament fabrication (FFF) and assembly with pure PLA biomedical applications. PLA/PCL binary were meltblended in a twin-screw extruder at different ratios (20/80 to 80/20) then formed into filaments calibrated diameter FFF. The microstructure, surface properties, rheological mechanical behaviors assessed. immiscible but showed signs adhesion between phases. It was determined that fibrillar morphology inclusions higher than 30/70 proved be driven by manufacturing process. tensile printed injected samples similar, their Young's modulus simulated Halpin-Tsai Mori Tanaka models based on sample microstructure. ductility strongly behavior its majority phase. Finally, specific designed characterize strength entangling layers both materials. found dependent phase continuous governed viscosity blend.

Mechanical evaluation of gradient electrospun scaffolds with 3D printed ring reinforcements for tracheal defect repair.

Tracheal stenosis can become a fatal condition, and current treatments include augmentation of the airway with autologous tissue. A tissue-engineered approach would not require a donor source, while providing an implant that meets both surgeons' and patients' needs. A fibrous, polymeric scaffold organized in gradient bilayers of polycaprolactone (PCL) and poly-lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) wit...

A 3D Printed Toolbox for Opto-Mechanical Components

In this article we present the development of a set of opto-mechanical components (a kinematic mount, a translation stage and an integrating sphere) that can be easily built using a 3D printer based on Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) and parts that can be found in any hardware store. Here we provide a brief description of the 3D models used and some details on the fabrication process. Moreover...

3D Measurement for Mechanical Parts in Neuro-vision System

In this paper, a new on-line measurement and accuracy analysis method for part configuration and surface is presented by combining computer vision and neural networks. Different from conventional contact measurement, it is non-contact measurement method, and it can operate on-line. In this method, the 3D configuration and surface of part are reconstructed from stereo image pair taken by compute...

Impact of Particle Size of Ceramic Granule Blends on Mechanical Strength and Porosity of 3D Printed Scaffolds

3D printing is a promising method for the fabrication of scaffolds in the field of bone tissue engineering. To date, the mechanical strength of 3D printed ceramic scaffolds is not sufficient for a variety of applications in the reconstructive surgery. Mechanical strength is directly in relation with the porosity of the 3D printed scaffolds. The porosity is directly influenced by particle size a...

Untethered Hovering Flapping Flight of a 3D-Printed Mechanical Insect

This project focuses on developing a flapping-wing hovering insect using 3D-printed wings and mechanical parts. The use of 3D printing technology has greatly expanded the possibilities for wing design, allowing wing shapes to replicate those of real insects or virtually any other shape. It has also reduced the time of a wing design cycle to a matter of minutes. An ornithopter with a mass of 3.8...
