Novel Protease from Aspergillus tamarii URM4634: Production and Characterization Using Inexpensive Agroindustrial Substrates by Solid-State Fermentation
This study reports the protease production from Aspergillus tamarii using agroindustrial residues as substrate for solid-state fermentation (SSF) and biochemical characterization. The highest protease production was obtained using wheat bran as substrate at 72 h fermentation with maximum proteolytic activity of 401.42 U/mL, collagenase of 243.0 U/mL and keratinase of 19.1 U/mL. The protease exh...
متن کاملCase of keratitis caused by Aspergillus tamarii.
We report a case of Aspergillus tamarii keratitis. Ocular injury was known to be a predisposing factor. Topical natamycin and econazole treatment and subsequent systemic ketoconazole treatment proved effective. The isolate was identified by morphological characteristics and sequence analysis as A. tamarii, a member of Aspergillus section Flavi not hitherto reported from keratomycosis.
متن کاملPurification and biochemical characterization of a novel alkaline protease from Aspergillus niger. Use in Antioxidant peptides production
This work reports the production of a novel alkaline protease from the fungus Aspergillus niger. The protease was purified from the culture supernatant to homogeneity using ammonium sulfate precipitation, Sephadex G-150 gel filtration and DEAE-sepharose ion exchange chromatography with a 13.9-fold increase in specific activity. The molecular weight of the enzyme was estimated to be 32 kDa on SD...
متن کاملBiochemical and Structural Characterization of SplD Protease from Staphylococcus aureus
Staphylococcus aureus is a dangerous human pathogen. A number of the proteins secreted by this bacterium are implicated in its virulence, but many of the components of its secretome are poorly characterized. Strains of S. aureus can produce up to six homologous extracellular serine proteases grouped in a single spl operon. Although the SplA, SplB, and SplC proteases have been thoroughly charact...
متن کاملBiochemical and biophysical characterization of a chimeric TRIM21-TRIM5alpha protein.
The tripartite motif (TRIM) protein, TRIM5alpha, is an endogenous factor in primates that recognizes the capsids of certain retroviruses after virus entry into the host cell. TRIM5alpha promotes premature uncoating of the capsid, thus blocking virus infection. Low levels of expression and tendencies to aggregate have hindered the biochemical, biophysical, and structural characterization of TRIM...
