Biomuse Trio
Biomuse Trio is a composition for biomuse, violin and laptop. The strengths of each instrument are fused into a chamber music composition that emphasizes precise, coordinated musical interaction. There is a particular interest to explore the human body as musical instrument, and thus the various prosthetics of the Biomuse are hidden in performance.
متن کاملBioMuse to Bondage: Corporeal Interaction in Performance and Exhibition
Introduction This chapter looks at technologies of biosensing and techniques of sonification that invoke physicalization of sound to create a sense of intimacy in musical performance and gallery exhibition. By comparing the dynamic across stage and gallery settings, we will see how the corporeal activation of sound can become a key not just to decode experimental performance, but as an entry po...
متن کاملPostprocessing method for suppressing musical noise generated by spectral subtraction
In this correspondence, we investigate whether musical noise, which often exists in speech enhanced using spectral subtraction, can be suppressed. Via exploiting some specific characteristics of human speech, we propose a method that can effectively suppress musical noise without noticeable effect on speech intelligibility. Performance assessments confirm that our method is effective.
متن کاملInterpreted and generated signals
Models of incomplete information rely on probabilistic signals to capture the uncertain values of variables allowing the relationship between signals and the relevant variables to be captured by a joint probability distribution function. In this paper, we de ne and contrast two types of signals: generated signals and interpreted signals. Generated signals are distortions of the true values or o...
متن کاملComposing Musical Spaces By Means of Decorrelation of Audio Signals
Since the seminal work of John Chowning on the simulation of moving sound sources (Chowning 1971) there has been in computer music research a tremendous amount of work concerning perceptual sound space definition. Chowning's model implemented some complementary cues regarding localization, distance, and movement, among which we can recall (1) an interaction between spectral brightness and loudn...
