Biomineralization of Carbonates Induced by Mucilaginibacter gossypii HFF1: Significant Role of Biochemical Parameters

Although the precipitation of carbonate minerals induced by various bacteria is widely studied, changes in biochemical parameters, and their significant role biomineralization processes, still need further exploration. In this study, Mucilaginibacter gossypii HFF1 was isolated, identified, used to induce at Mg/Ca ratios. The parameters were determined order explore mechanisms, including cell concentration, pH, ammonia, carbonic anhydrase activity, alkaline phosphatase activity. characteristics extracellular intracellular inclusions both analyzed. addition, amino acid composition polymeric substance also tested. Results show that provide an environment for precipitation, due combined effect anhydrase, phosphatase. Biotic are characterized preferred orientation, specific shape, better crystalline thermal stability, indicating biogenesis. Most acids negatived charged, facilitate binding magnesium calcium ions. particles with weak structure EPS prove it acts as a nucleation site. Intracellular analyses presence amorphous inclusions. Our results suggest caused beneficial biomineralization, play necessary its process. This offers new insight into understanding mechanism HFF1.
