Biomimetic and Constructal Design of Alveolus-Inspired Extended Surfaces for Heat Dispersion

چکیده

Biomimetics is a school of design based on taking inspiration from nature to solve complex problems. This done with the assumption that natural world already has solutions many engineering problems have been refined through trial and error—an example constructal law. In this study, biomimicry used investigate impact shape an extended surface for mixed convection cooling within context cavity problem. simplified two-dimensional case aims develop new heat dispersal ideas use in electronics, power generation, industrial applications. A numerical model developed solved using ANSYS Fluent results were examined varying Reynolds, Rayleigh, Richardson numbers goal maximizing transfer. The show alveolus-inspired fin provides better transfer compared rectangular cavity.

Constructal design of tree-shaped conductive pathways for cooling a heat generating volume

Constructal design is used to study heat removal from a square heated body with a tree shaped high thermal conductivity pathways embedded in the body. The objective is to minimize the defined maximum dimensionless temperature difference for the body. The thermal conductivity of the body is low, and there is a uniform heat generation on it. The volume of the body is fixed. The amount of high con...

Sympodial fractal structures: tree-inspired concept for biomimetic engineering design

In this work, the analysis of a tree-inspired fractal structure is presented. First, trajectories of points on branches of different hierarchy of a tree that oscillates freely are recorded in experiments. Then, the principle axes and ellipses of displacements are determined analytically for a sympodial fractal mechanical model. Modes of oscillations and their frequencies are found numerically f...
