Biomarker development for PCOS diagnosis

چکیده
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, most commonly known as PCOS, is a condition that affects at least 6 million women of reproductive age in the United States alone. Approximately 10% worldwide are affected by PCOS it number one cause female infertility. Diagnosis not process has been fully coagulated many symptoms overlap with other conditions. Biomarker development to diagnose during earlier stages critical making advancements field detection means more time treat and possibly find treatment.

متن کاملBaseline Scan and Ultrasound Diagnosis of PCOS
Success of any assisted reproductive technology is dependent on selection of correct stimulation protocol. This is based on prestimulation assessment of female to assess ovarian response and reserve. But, this assessment can also be done by ultrasound scan on 2nd to 3rd day of menstrual cycle, named as ‘baseline scan’. This scan is done to categorize ovary into one of the four types: Normal ova...
متن کاملObesity and PCOS: implications for diagnosis and treatment.
There appears to be an epidemic of both obesity and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in the world today. However, obesity per se is not a part of the phenotype in many parts of the world. Obesity is likely not a cause of PCOS, as the high prevalence of PCOS among relatively thin populations demonstrates. However, obesity does exacerbate many aspects of the phenotype, especially cardiovascular r...
متن کاملcell free dna: a novel biomarker for clinical diagnosis
cell free dnas (cfdnas) are small fragments of genomic or mitochondrial dna releasing from cells into the blood stream. the presence of cfdna in the human circulatory system has been shown for the first time in 1948 however, the potential clinical applications of cfdna remained unknown until recent progress in detection and quantification of these molecules by sensitive methods. in this paper, ...
متن کاملCan Prostate Specific Antigen Be Used as New Biomarker for Early Diagnosis of Breast Cancer?
Introduction: As a glycoprotein, Plasma Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) is mainly produced by prostate epithelial cells and is used as a major diagnostic tool for prostate cancer. A group of researchers relate the elevated number of estrogen receptors in breast cancer samples to the over-production of PSA in this type of cancer. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the participants' ...
