BIOM-53. SPECIFIC MICRORNA EXPRESSION PATTERN PREDICTS RECURRENCE IN ATYPICAL MENINGIOMA

چکیده
Abstract Meningiomas are the most common primary tumors of central nervous system (CNS). Atypical meningioma (AM) recurs in 40% patients despite total resection and radiotherapy (RT). No consensus on optimal adjuvant management was found, it is difficult to identify insensitive RT real-life clinical practice. A promising group biomarkers represent microRNAs (miRNAs), short non-coding RNAs that regulate biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis. The study aims tissue miRNAs capable predicting with AM who could benefit from indicated RT. includes 80 exploratory phase 400 validation phase. Total RNA enriched isolated FFPE using mirVana miRNA Isolation Kit (TF Scientific). Subsequently, quantity quality controls were measured NanoDrop 2000 Scientific) Qubit 2.0 instruments. global expression profile generated TaqMan Array Human MicroRNA Cards Scientific), which allow detection up 754 simultaneously. Atypical Growth Pattern of an Intraparenchymal Meningioma
Meningiomas are the most common primary nonneuroglial extra-axial neoplasms, which commonly present as spherical or oval masses with a dural attachment. Meningiomas without dural attachment are rare and, according to their locations, are classified into 5 varieties, including intraventricular, deep Sylvain fissure, pineal region, intraparenchymal, or subcortical meningiomas. To the best of our ...
متن کاملBone involvement predicts poor outcome in atypical meningioma.
OBJECT The authors identified clinical features associated with progression and death in atypical meningioma (AM). METHODS Forty-seven cases of primary AM treated at Massachusetts General Hospital were retrospectively evaluated for clinical features. Associations with progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival were assessed. RESULTS The estimated median PFS was 56 months (95% CI 3...
متن کاملMelanoma MicroRNA signature predicts post-recurrence survival.
PURPOSE To identify a melanoma microRNA (miRNA) expression signature that is predictive of outcome and then evaluate its potential to improve risk stratification when added to the standard-of-care staging criteria. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN Total RNA was extracted from 59 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded melanoma metastases and hybridized to miRNA arrays containing 911 probes. We then correlated mi...
متن کامل[Atypical meningioma].
One case of intradiploic meningioma, causing partial occlusion of the superior longitudinal sinus, with subsequent visual trouble and another of lipomatous meningioma with great fat content and very calcified, that was found in a LCR fistula study of the cranial anterior stage, are described by the authors as atypical meningiomas.
متن کاملMeningioma recurrence
Meningioma accounts for more than 30% of all intracranial tumours. It affects mainly the elderly above the age of 60, at a female:male ratio of 3:2. The prognosis is variable: it is usually favourable with no progression in tumour grade and no recurrence in WHO grade 1 tumours. However, a minority of tumours represent atypical (grade 2) or anaplastic (grade 3) meningiomas; this heterogeneity is...
