Biological aspects of squid (Loligo edulis) in the waters of Eastern North Sumatra, Indonesia

Squid is one of the non-fish resources that have economic value and a target species in demersal fisheries activities with squid fishing gear stick-held deep net. This research aims to determine biological aspects (Loligo edulis) such as length frequency distribution, length-weight relationship, sex ratio, gonadal maturity level, index, size at first caught, gonads. The method used this was descriptive survey. sample collection systematic random sampling purposive techniques. observation carried out on March 7 July 30, 2022, Belawan Ocean Fishing Port Tanjung Balai Port. results showed average distribution 17.73 cm. relationship between weight negative allometric. ratio 1:1.05. allometric growth pattern dominated by Gonadal Maturity Level (GML) I GML II. highest for male 2.06% III, female 1.92% III. caught (Lc) 10.42 gonad 13.32 cm.Keywords:SquidBiological aspectsFisheries aspectManagement effort
