چکیده
Abstract The scalloped hammerhead shark is an endangered species that listed in CITES Appendix II. Information on the biological aspects, exploitation rate, and spawning potential ratio of sharks are very limited, especially Lampung Bay waters. These data were important to find solutions best management sustain Indonesia, aim this study investigate rates, ratios water. Scalloped samples collected from catch bottom gillnet Kalianda Fish Landing Place, Province. Enumerators biometric (length weight) 332 July November 2020. Biological aspects include distribution length, length-weight (L-W) relationships, length at first capture, maturity. utilization rate was calculated using (E) estimated SPR based data. results show ranged 37.5 173.0 cm FL. Most fish had not spawned yet or immature ( L c =47.1 FL; m =89.4 FL). growth pattern allometrically negative. have natural mortality 0.18/year, while fishing 1.08/year. status fully exploited (E=0.85), stocks a recruitment overfishing condition. findings indicate effective required ensure sustainability waters, such as adjusting mesh size, season, avoiding capture nursery area.

Age and growth of the Scalloped Hammerhead shark, Sphyrna lewini (Griffith and Smith, 1834), from the southern Brazilian coast.
Age and growth studies for the scalloped hammerhead shark, Sphyrna lewini (Griffith and Smith, 1834) caught along the southern Brazilian coast, were based on ring measurements of vertebrae sections of 115 males, 116 females and 14 unknown sexed sharks between 48 and 344 cm total length (TL). The von Bertalanffy growth models were best fit using back-calculated data. The growth parameters obtain...
متن کاملDemographic Processes Underlying Subtle Patterns of Population Structure in the Scalloped Hammerhead Shark, Sphyrna lewini
Genetic diversity (θ), effective population size (N(e)), and contemporary levels of gene flow are important parameters to estimate for species of conservation concern, such as the globally endangered scalloped hammerhead shark, Sphyrna lewini. Therefore, we have reconstructed the demographic history of S. lewini across its Eastern Pacific (EP) range by applying classical and coalescent populati...

Metabolic and activity rates determined from free-ranging juvenile scalloped hammerhead shark pups (Sphyrna lewini) in Kāne’ohe Bay, Ō’ahu, HI, were used to develop a simplified energy budget for this population. Five shark pups were tracked using a specially designed acoustic tail beat transmitter. Previous laboratory experiments determined that tail beat frequency (TBF) and water temperature ...

We examined the diet and trophic level of Sphyrna lewini in the Gulf of California (GC) during 2001 and in the Gulf of Tehuantepec (GT) during 2005 using data from stomach content and stable isotope analysis of δ15N and δ13C. S. lewini diet was represented by pelagic and benthic prey species where the most important in weight was Scomber japonicus (27.70±4.54%) in GC, while in GT it was Auxis s...
