چکیده

Abstract Global energy consumption of fossil fuels which is expected to rise by about 177 quadrillion British thermal units (BTU). The scarcity oil and along with the demand for needs can be overcome switching renewable environmentally friendly energy. Biofuels an alternative provide a clean green environment. Breadfruit peel waste high in carbohydrates sugar so have potential optimized into bioethanol. This research aims determine effect variations yeast mass fermentation time on bioethanol content breadfruit rind through distillation process. study applies method (PI: 8 grams 72 hours), (P2: 10 (P3: 96 (P4: hours). Then, ethanol was tested Perkin Elmer Clarus 580 (GC) HS Turbo Matrix 40 (headspace sampler). optimum results were found variation hours, resulting 339.8 mg/L at simplo 338.08 duplication or average 338.94 mg/L.

Yeasts in sustainable bioethanol production: A review

Bioethanol has been identified as the mostly used biofuel worldwide since it significantly contributes to the reduction of crude oil consumption and environmental pollution. It can be produced from various types of feedstocks such as sucrose, starch, lignocellulosic and algal biomass through fermentation process by microorganisms. Compared to other types of microoganisms, yeasts especially Sacc...

Waste Paper - Promissing Feedstock for Bioethanol Production

Modern approach to utilization of non-edible biomass is its conversion to glucose, and the following fermentation of the sugar into final bioproducts. Among various biomass types, the waste of office paper is distinguished by increased content of cellulose and negligible content of lignin; therefore it can be a suitable feedstock for bioconversion into valuable bioproduct, e.g. ethanol. An adva...

Biorefinery for sustainable biofuel production from energy crops; conversion of lignocellulose to bioethanol, biohydrogen and biomethane

Sustainable production and utilization of biofuels has an enormous potential for the world’s energy supply. Most research studies usually focus on individual conversion processes and specific end-products. To gain full benefits however, it is important to investigate production and utilization cycles in an integrated way and to consider all important aspects involved: e.g. crop production, resi...

Butanol production from food waste: a novel process for producing sustainable energy and reducing environmental pollution

BACKGROUND Waste is currently a major problem in the world, both in the developing and the developed countries. Efficient utilization of food waste for fuel and chemical production can positively influence both the energy and environmental sustainability. This study investigated using food waste to produce acetone, butanol, and ethanol (ABE) by Clostridium beijerinckii P260. RESULTS In contro...

Chloroplast microsatellite markers for Artocarpus (Moraceae) developed from transcriptome sequences1

PREMISE OF THE STUDY Chloroplast microsatellite loci were characterized from transcriptomes of Artocarpus altilis (breadfruit) and A. camansi (breadnut). They were tested in A. odoratissimus (terap) and A. altilis and evaluated in silico for two congeners. METHODS AND RESULTS Fifteen simple sequence repeats (SSRs) were identified in chloroplast sequences from four Artocarpus transcriptome ass...
