Biodiesel Production from Waste Cooking Oil Using Extracted Catalyst from Plantain Banana Stem via RSM and ANN Optimization for Sustainable Development

Biodiesel is a promising sector worldwide and experiencing significant rapid growth. Several studies have been undertaken to utilize homogeneous base catalysts in the form of KOH develop biodiesel order establish commercially viable sustainable industry. This research centers around extracting potassium hydroxide (KOH) from banana trunks employing it transesterification reaction generate waste cooking oil (WCO). Various operational factors were analyzed for their relative impact on output, after optimizing parameters, conversion rate 95.33% was achieved while maintaining period 2.5 h, methanol-to-oil molar ratio 15:1, catalyst quantity 5 wt%. Response surface methodology (RSM) artificial neural network (ANN) models implemented improve optimize these parameters purpose obtaining maximum output. Consequently, remarkably higher yields 95.53% by RSM ANN, respectively, with quite little margin error 0.0003%. study showcases immense promise large-scale commercial production biodiesel.
