Biodiesel production from slaughter wastes of broiler chicken: a potential survey in Iran

Abstract Biodiesel is a kind of biofuels that can be mixed with diesel and used as fuel. Selecting cheap available feedstock prominent step in producing biodiesel economically. This paper presents the pros cons its production methods. The demand significantly high Iran, especially transportation sector; On other hand, amount produced waste significant chicken slaughterhouses. Considering this type source to produce not only reduce associated environmental problems, but also supply some needs. Hence, estimates potential from poultry slaughter cost. Based on results, 736 kilotonnes annually which 112 million liters by transesterification process cost around 14,277 rial/liter; i.e. 30% sector supplied B2 (98% 2% biodiesel) or growth converted B20 increase economical sustainability.
