چکیده
Bu çalışma, metabolik ve oksidatif stres biyobelirteçlerinin analizi yoluyla, su kirliliğinin iyi bir biyoindikatörü olarak kabul edilen tatlı omurgasızı Dreissena polymorpha üzerindeki Gadolinyum (Gd) toksisitesini değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Öncelikle çalışmamızda Gd’nin D. LC50 değeri belirlenmiştir. polymorpha, kontrollü koşullar altında 24 96 saatlik süre boyunca üç letal olmayan Gd konsantrasyonuna (1/20, 1/10 1/5 değerine) maruz bırakılmıştır. TBARS CYP1A1 seviyeleri ELISA kiti kullanılarak düzeylerinin tüm gruplarda 24. 96. saatte kontrol grubuna göre arttığı görülmüştür. sonuçlar, Gd'nin omurgasızları, için risk edilebileceğini bu nedenle alıcı ortamlara deşarjının denetlenmesi gerektiğini göstermektedir.

tons of oxides in 2003 [3]. However, this growing use of REEs is accompanied by enrichment to the environment [4]. Indeed, REE senter the groundwater and eventually migrate into rivers and lakes [5] and reach humans through trophic transfer [6, 7]. Despite their widespread applications, environmental risks related to REEs have received little attention which explains the paucity of data about t...
متن کاملAbundance of Dreissena polymorpha and Dreissena bugensis in a warmwater plume: effects of depth and temperature
The generalization that quagga mussel (Dreissena bugensis) and zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) occur in deepcold water and shallowwarm water, respectively, is inappropriate. We estimated dreissenid densities at sites affected by warmwater discharges into Lake Erie (Nanticoke, Ontario) to separate the effects of depth and temperature. Both species densities increased with depth. After con...
متن کاملChromosome Aberrations Induction in Freshwater Mussel Dreissena polymorpha on 3-Methylcholanthrene Exposure
The influence of 3-methylcholanthrene to zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) larvae was studied. The artificial spawning of zebra mussels was used for obtaining larvae. Two different concentrations of 3-methylcholanthrene were used. The chromosome analysis showed a significant increase in chromosome aberrations (CA) at the higher concentration of the compound. The resistance of zebra mussel lar...
متن کاملEffects of Freshwater Pollution on the Genetics of Zebra Mussels (Dreissena polymorpha) at the Molecular and Population Level
Revealing long-term effects of contaminants on the genetic structure of organisms inhabiting polluted environments should encompass analyses at the population, molecular, and cellular level. Following this concept, we studied the genetic constitution of zebra mussel populations from a polluted (Dp) and reference sites (Cl) at the river Drava, Croatia, and applied microsatellite and DNA damage a...
متن کاملGenotoxic and Cytotoxic Effects on the Immune Cells of the Freshwater Bivalve Dreissena polymorpha Exposed to the Environmental Neurotoxin BMAA
The environmental neurotoxin β-N-Methylamino-l-alanine (BMAA) has been pointed out to be involved in human neurodegenerative diseases. This molecule is known to be bioaccumulated by bivalves. However, little data about its toxic effects on freshwater mussels is available, particularly on the hemolymphatic compartment and its hemocyte cells involved in various physiological processes such as imm...
