چکیده

Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is a major oilseed crop, cultivated throughout the world, and nutritional quality of its edible oil ranks among best vegetable oils in agricultural product. In Tunisia, there lack study on biochemical characterization sunflower germplasm oil. The present was conducted to analyze content fatty acid composition 22 local introduced accessions. Results revealed significant variation studied accessions for all measured traits. average H. annuus 53.2%, ranging from 35.33% 59.67%. results this also indicated that unsaturated acids, particularly oleic linoleic acid, were most abundant acids oils. Fatty compositions showed diversity depending accession. first two components principal component analysis (PCA) contributed 45.7% total variability. Cluster based PCA separated into four clear groups, which not grouped according their geographical origin. Moreover, classification evaluated using clustering by Euclidean distance main groups. Linoleic had negative correlations with some saturated (palmitic, stearic, arachidic acids). These data can be useful selecting development varieties improved quality.

Evaluation of Fatty Acid Composition of Oil Extracted from Nine Varieties of Sunflower Seed

In this study nine new varieties of sunflower seeds were obtained and subjected to oil extraction using soxhlet apparatus. The extracted oil was analyzed for fatty acid composition and phosphorus content to measure the phospholipid concentration. The results indicated that Armavirski variety had the highest oil content. The fatty acid composition of the extracted oils indicated that Armavirski ...

Cavitation fatigue and its reversal in sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.).

"Cavitation fatigue" is the increased susceptibility of a xylem conduit to cavitation as a result of its prior cavitation. It was investigated whether cavitation fatigue induced in vivo could be repaired in intact plants. Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus L.) were subjected to soil drought in the greenhouse. Native embolism and vulnerability to cavitation was measured in well-watered controls and a...

Jasmonic Acid Levels and Seed Development in Sunflower (helianthus Annuus L.)

Using gas–mass chromatography analyses (GS-MS) we have determined the endogenous levels of jasmonic acid (JA) in developing sunflower seeds. The level of JA was higher in the early phases of seed development. We have registered a maximum on day 5 after pollination. Spraying of plants with JA at the time of flowering induced marked changes in protein content. Five days after treatment total prot...

Combining ability analysis for seed yield and its components in Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.)

Twenty four lines were crossed with two testers in an L x T mating design to estimate the combining ability for seed yield in sunflower. Non-additive genetic variance played a preponderant role in the inheritance of all the characters studied viz., days to 50 % flowering, days to maturity, plant height, head diameter, volume weight, hundred seed weight and seed yield per plant. The lines 27, 43...

TOLERANCE OF SUNFLOWER (Helianthus annuus L.) TO IMAZETHAPYR

The response of RIMI [imazethapyr-tolerant (T)] sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) hybrid and the local imazethapyr-sensitive hybrid "Zoltan" (S) was investigated under controlled conditions. Hybrids grown in pots were treated post-emergence with imazethapyr at the two pairs of leaves stage. Visual injury evaluation and vegetative parameters were recorded. ALS (acetolactate synthase) enzyme activ...
