Biocarbon reinforced polypropylene composite: An investigation of mechanical and filler behavior through advanced dynamic atomic force microscopy and X-ray micro CT

Polymer composites were manufactured using biocarbon particles as a reinforcing filler to improve the mechanical and thermal properties. However, detailed examination of dispersion agglomeration is essential correlate matrix interactions with properties product. We investigated variations mechanical, behaviour fillers, polypropylene coconut shell composites. PP CSB prepared by melt mixing process varying content Brabender mixer. The nanomechanical mapping studied Atomic Force Microscopy revealed an increase in Youngs modulus from 1.6 2.9 GPa when loading increased 0 20 weight percentage. 3D reconstructed images help X-ray micro CT, dedicated reconstruction software. stability also improved PP.
