Bioaerosol Contribution to Atmospheric Particulate Matter in Indoor University Environments

چکیده
Within the framework of project “Integrated Evaluation Indoor Particulate Exposure”, we carried out a 4-week field study to determine indoor bioaerosol, and its contribution particulate matter (PM)10 organic matter. The was in university classrooms, where most common sources atmospheric particles are missing. Bioaerosol determined by method based on propidium iodide staining, observation fluorescence microscopy, image analysis. bioaerosol concentrations were compared with outdoor values, which simultaneously. samplings periods scheduled divide weekday hours, when students inside, from night-time hours weekends. Very high detected inside classrooms respect values. mean difference 49 ?g/m3 5.4 during night, it became negative Indoor-to-outdoor ratios 6.0, 4.2, 0.7, respectively. contributed 26% organics 10% PM10. In samples collected day, microscope images showed numerous skin fragments, mostly responsible for increase mass. People’s presence proved be significant concentration crowded environments.

Carbon in Atmospheric Particulate Matter
Carbon compounds account for a large fraction of airborne particulate matter (‘carbonaceous aerosols’). Their presence raises a number of scientific questions dealing with climate issues and possible effects on human health. This review describes the current state of knowledge with respect to the ambient concentrations levels (elemental carbon, organic carbon and organic matter) and the various...

abstract background: bioaerosol is defined as airborne particles such as living organisms include bacteria, fungi and their related metabolites, such as endotoxin. over the recent years, health effects of bioaerosols such as infectious and respiratory diseases, acute toxic effects, allergies and cancer have been considered. the aim of this study was to evaluate the bacterial and fungal concentr...
متن کاملParticulate Matter Investigation in Indoor Environment
Particulate matter is one of the most important indoor air pollutants involved in a number of adverse health effects, such as premature deaths and increased mortality of infants and other parts of sensitive population. This paper focuses on investigation of metal substances of suspended as well as settled particulate matter in indoor environment. The monitoring of particulate matter concentrati...

Inhaling indoor air is the primary means by which humans are exposed to bioaerosols. Considering bacteria, fungi, and viruses, this study reviews the dynamic processes that govern indoor concentrations and fates of biological particulate material. Bioaerosol behavior is strongly coupled to particle size; this study emphasizes the range 0.1-10 μm in aerodynamic diameter. The principle of materia...

particulate matters commonly found dispersed in the atmosphere are composed of a large variety of substances. dustfall is the usual index of particles in the size range greater than 10 m. two semi automated so2 sampling units were installed in tehran university campus (from 21 january 1973 to 22 dec. 1974) and gheitarieh area (from 23 august to 23 oct. 1974) hydrogen peroxide method was used fo...
