چکیده

This research aims to study the efficacy of Cinnamomum verum (Cv) extracts for ovicidal, larvicidal, and repellent activities against Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito vectors. The active components C. or cinnamon oil by Gas Chromatography (GC) analysis showed highest cinnamaldehyde at 83.53%. For ovicidal assay, essential concentrations 12.5, 25 50 ppm 72 h had 100% egg hatch inhibition a significant difference when compared control group (p<0.05). Larvicidal activity that were highly effective in killing larvae. Morphological changes raft faded color eggs seemed have split from their while larvae changed pale white wrinkled body with destroyed inner tube motionless. A Scanning electron microscope eggshell micropyle chitin peeled out. After treatment oil, appeared body, thorax abdominal cuticle also high density particles observed on mouth brushes obstructing spiracle. assay could repel both male female mosquitos up 180 min. From results, it was concluded repellency adults insecticidal stages evidenced LC50 6.59±0.54, 9.07±0.67 36.91±7.56 its morphological indicated how not survive after hence this may be useful alternative method is green friendly controlling mosquitoes endemic areas.

Repellency of essential oils extracted from plants in Thailand against four mosquito vectors (Diptera: Culicidae) and oviposition deterrent effects against Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae).

In this study we evaluated and reported repellent effects of essential oils from Thai plants against 4 mosquito vectors: Aedes aegypti, Ae. albopictus, Anopheles. dirus and Culex quinquefasciatus under laboratory conditions using human volunteers. The essential oils were extracted from 18 plant species, belonging to 11 families, and the oils were then prepared as 10% solution in absolute ethano...

Larvicidial Effects of essential oil and methanol extract of Achilleawilhelmsii C. Koch (Asteraceae) against Anopheles stephensi Liston (Diptera: Culicidae), a malaria vector

Background: Mosquitoes are responsible for the transmission of many pathogens and parasites and consequently serious diseases in humans. Currently, application of plant derivatives has been suggested as an alternative bio-control technique for these medically important vectors. Methods: In this study the essential oil and methanol extract of Achilleaw...

Evaluation of the insecticidal activity of essential oils and their mixtures against Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae)

The search for new insecticides to control dengue fever, chikungunya, and Zika vectors has gained relevance in the past decades. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the larvicidal action of essential oils (EOs) from Thymus vulgaris, Salvia officinalis, Lippia origanoides, Eucalyptus globulus, Cymbopogon nardus, Cymbopogon martinii, Lippia alba, Pelargonium graveolens, Turnera diffusa, ...

Comparative field efficacy of newly developed formulations of larvicides against Aedes aegypti (L.) (Diptera: Culicidae).

Aedes aegypti (L.) is known as vector of dengue and chikungunya fever. Larvicides are used to control this vector. We evaluated the efficacy of newly developed formulations of larvicides to control Ae. aegypti under field conditions for 24 weeks post single application. Mosdop P and Mosdop TB containing diflubenzuron (2% and 40 mg/tablet, respectively) as the active ingredient, were applied at ...
