Bilateral ramus mandibulectomy with plate reconstruction in ameloblastic carcinoma patient

چکیده
Background: Ameloblastic carcinoma is a rare and malignant odontogenic tumour possibly arising de-novo from pre-existing ameloblastoma. It aggressive locally destructive. Ameloblastoma the most common benign of mandible. originates tooth-forming epithelium, where its aetiology remains unknown. usually grows slowly, asymptomatic, destroys surrounding bone tissue. Malignant transformation ameloblastomas may occur spontaneously. Resection primary therapy for ameloblastic with extensive destruction. Mandibular resection causes instability due to missing parts bone, so reconstruction needed. Purpose: This study will report on an individual case that underwent bilateral ramus mandibulectomy using plate technique. Case: Bilateral in patient. Case Management: Two months after surgery, patient could open her mouth functionally aesthetically. Conclusion: Plate option reconstructing large

Ameloblastic carcinoma is a rare cause of jaw tumors, especially in children. This rare, rapidly growing, malignant tumor of odontogenic origin affects predominantly the mandible and maxilla. Hypercellularity, lack of differentiation, high mitotic index, vascular and neural invasion are its main histological features. Local destruction and distant metastases to the lungs, bones, liver and brain...
متن کاملAmeloblastic Carcinoma
BACKGROUND Ameloblastic carcinoma secondary type is an extremely rare and aggressive odontogenic neoplasm that exhibits histological features of malignancy in primary and metastatic sites. It arises through carcinomatous de-differentiation of a pre-existing ameloblastoma or odontogenic cyst, typically following repeated treatments and recurrences of the benign precursor neoplasm. Identification...
متن کاملMaxillary Ameloblastic Carcinoma
Odontogenic carcinomas of the maxilla are classified as malignant ameloblastoma, ameloblastic carcinoma, or primary intraosseous carcinoma. The term ameloblastic carcinoma is used to describe those ameloblastomas in which there is histological evidence of malignancy in the primary, recurrent, or metastatic tumour. The maxilla is an unusual site for ameloblastoma. This report is of a patient wit...
متن کاملLarge ameloblastic carcinoma: A rare case with management
The ameloblastic carcinoma is a rare malignant counterpart of the ameloblastoma. Ameloblastic carcinoma is a malignant lesion with characteristic histologic features and behavior that dictates a more aggressive surgical approach than that of a simple ameloblastoma. However, reliable evidence of its biologic activity is currently unavailable due to the scarcity of well-documented cases. We prese...

Background: Parvimonas micra is a gram-positive anaerobe and a part of the normal commensal flora of the gastrointestinal tract. Factors predisposing to anaerobic bacteremia include malignant neoplasms, periodontal disease, immune deficiencies, chronic renal insufficiency, decubitus ulcers and perforated abdominal viscus. Cases of Parvimonas bacteremia in a patient with esophageal carcinoma and...
