BILATERAL CLEFT PALATE REPAIR BY USING TONGUE FLAP FOLLOWED BY ALVEOLAR BONE GRAFTING - A CASE REPORT

چکیده
A clinical case of bilateral cleft palate repair using previous tongue flap followed by Alveolar Bone Grafting(ABG). After pre-surgical orthodontics a surgical procedure whereby Flaps were reflected, nasalbeds prepared on both sides. cortico-cancellous bone 2 cm was harvested from iliac crest and grafted inclefts. Patient is kept follow up to monitor healing, postoperative results any post- operative complication.

Cancellous bone grafting in alveolar cleft repair: new experience.
Bone grafting plays an important role in the dental rehabilitation of patients with alveolar cleft. During the period between 1993 and 2001, 12 patients with alveolar clefts have been treated in our clinic. Cancellous iliac bone grafts were used in all 12 patients. Seven patients had left and five patients had right complete unilateral cleft lip and complete cleft palate operations. All patient...

BACKGROUND: Dental disease, trauma and maxillofacial surgeries can cause alveolar bone defects. Among different kinds of treatment, autogenous bone grafts is accepted as a golden standard. On the other hand, because of limitation of treatment with autogenous bone grafts, osteogenic cells derived from stem cells are suggested. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to compare the mean density of ...
متن کاملBone Grafting in the Cleft Palate Patient
During the last 20 years a new concept arose among surgeons performing cleft lip and palate repair: the defect represents not only a cleft but also a failure of development with a deficiency of tissue; the corollary is that the absent bony tissue should be replaced by bone grafts. It was reasoned that early replacement of the deficient bone would promote satisfactory maxillary development and m...
متن کاملAlveolar Bone Defect and Secondary Bone Grafting Outcome in Cleft Lip/Palate Patients
Background: Current evidence on factors influencing the outcome of Secondary Alveolar Bone Grafting (SABG) in cleft lip/palate patients is ambiguous and further deliberations are required to provide solid proof on prognostic criteria. Objectives: The objectives of this study were to determine the changes brought about by SABG in cleft depth and alveolar bone support of teeth in the vicinity of ...
