Beyond Planning Tools: Experiential Learning in Climate Adaptation Planning and Practices

In the past decade, several dedicated tools have been developed to help natural resources professionals integrate climate science into their planning and implementation; however, it is unclear how often these lead on-the-ground adaptation. Here, we describe a training approach that managers effectively plan execute intentional, climate-informed actions. This was through Climate Change Response Framework (CCRF) uses active focused work time peer-to-peer interaction overcome observed barriers using adaptation tools. We evaluate effectiveness of this by examining participant evaluations outlining progress projects participated in our trainings. outline case study describes can place context-based action. Finally, best practices based on experience for engaging helping them increase comfort with planning.
