Benzobicyclon for weedy rice control in quizalofop- and imidazolinone-resistant rice systems

چکیده
Abstract Gowan Company recently registered benzobicyclon, a WSSA Group 27 herbicide, as postflood option in rice. It is the first 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase-inhibiting herbicide commercially available mid-southern U.S. rice production. In 2018 and 2019, field experiments were conducted across multiple sites Arkansas to determine if addition of benzobicyclon quizalofop- or imidazolinone-resistant programs would improve weedy control. Across site-years, one application quizalofop, either at 1- 3-leaf stage, followed by applied postflood, provided comparable control two sequential applications which standard program quizalofop-resistant Additionally, treatments containing quizalofop injured ≤5% 28 d after application. all full-season improved when compared early postemergence imazethapyr. both experiments, treated with yielded comparably better than for each system. Findings from this research suggest that use systems could be an additional viable producers.

Inheritance of Seed Dormancy in Weedy Rice
should provide new insight into seed dormancy and resistance to preharvest sprouting. Seed dormancy contributes to the adaptability of plants in nature Rice germplasm (Oryza spp.) varies in degree of seed and is of considerable importance in agriculture. 15 صفحه اولMultiple loci and epistases control genetic variation for seed dormancy in weedy rice (Oryza sativa).
Weedy rice has much stronger seed dormancy than cultivated rice. A wild-like weedy strain SS18-2 was selected to investigate the genetic architecture underlying seed dormancy, a critical adaptive trait in plants. A framework genetic map covering the rice genome was constructed on the basis of 156 BC(1) [EM93-1 (nondormant breeding line)//EM93-1/SS18-2] individuals. The mapping population was re...

Weedy rice are complex of Oryza morphotypes widely distributed in the commercial rice fields in more than 50 countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, especially in areas where farmers have switched to direct seeding due to labour shortage and high cost. Wild and weedy forms of different species coming under the genus Oryza are also known as wild rice, red rice, padi angin, windy rice, air r...
متن کاملMorphological Relationships between Weedy Rice Morphotypes and Commercial Rice Varieties in Perak, Malaysia
Over the years, many rice morphotypes have appeared in paddy fields due to the autocratic nature of the rice plant. However, some of these morphotypes are problematic weeds and those which pose serious threat are commonly called as weedy rice (Oryza sativa L.) which has aggravated with the increase of direct-seeded culture technique (Ho et al., 1999). Besides, the presence of weedy rice in padd...
