Benefit‐finding process development in families raising children with chronic food hypersensitivity

Objective To examine benefit-finding processes in families raising children with chronic food hypersensitivity and provide practical advice for practitioners families. Background The existing literature primarily describes benefits individuals identify from adversity. This study addresses a gap by examining facilitating within Method was multicenter classical grounded theory comparing through analysis of semistructured interviews 11 (48 nuclear family members). Results Three main were identified, forming hierarchical process model: It Could Be Worse (benefit-finding); Silver Lining (benefit-reminding generating positive affect); Action Advantage advantageous behavior change). Enhanced functioning well-being observed Advantage. Parental training facilitated role-modeling reinforcement transferred among members, producing shared process. Conclusions Training parents to model implementing Family Management Plans addressing biopsychosocial all members is recommended. Evidence suggests such actions may enhance functioning, cohesive relationships, well-being. Implications Translatable findings advance facilitate assessment instruments, interventions, teachable strategies researchers supporting hypersensitivity.
