Behavioral Indicator-Based Initial Flight Training Competency Assessment Model

Ensuring training safety is paramount to flight schools. In response the inadequacy of traditional assessment for comprehensive quantitative evaluation cadet competency, an initial competency standard based on behavioral indicators was developed and optimized using VENN model. Firstly, Assessor Score Measurement Form (ASMF) constructed according requirements Training Evaluation Worksheet specification, such as typical subjects, observations, completion criteria. Secondly, basic principles experience expert Competency-Based Assessment (CBTA), a matrix correlations between observations each competency-based indicator created construct matrix. addition, two-dimensional model representing items characterized by established optimization criteria constructed. Finally, through combining actual data, proposed method validated in screening check phase. The results show that scheme can be well quantified matched real instructor ratings with accuracy 84%. worksheet, matrix, rating adapted different teaching phase, achieving perfect match items, which highly versatile. more accurately reflect core competencies trainees, enable provide support subsequent trainees.
