Behavior of Scaled Infilled Masonry, Confined Masonry & Reinforced Concrete Structures under Dynamic Excitations

This research investigates the nonlinear behavior of scaled infilled masonry (IFM), confined (CM), and reinforced concrete (RC) structures by utilizing validating two tests from literature as benchmarks. The validation was based on a comparison with pushover results small-scaled physical their numerical modeling. Numerical modeling small-scale (1:4 1:3) IFM, CM, RC models has been carried out Finite Element Modelling (FEM) Applied (AEM) techniques using SAP2000 Extreme Loading for Structures (ELS) software, respectively. structure under lateral loads excitations investigated static (pushover) time history (dynamic) analysis. evaluation analysis revealed that %age difference tangent stiffness 4.2% 13.5% FEMA Strut AEM, respectively, strength 31.2% 2.8% Similarly, it also calculated other wall types. Dynamic FEM AEM were found in fairly acceptable range before yield; however, beyond yield, proved more stable. Finally, showed study can be utilized performing test.
