چکیده

The objective: to determine the rate of treatment success in MDR and XDR pulmonary tuberculosis patients when treated with chemotherapy regimens containing bedaquiline based on a meta-analysis using mathematical modeling. Subjects Methods. We searched analyzed published studies conducted from 2014 2022 Russian Federation. A total 41 publications were found, which 15 included since they contained data eligible for analysis. They presented results 1,356 TB patients, 886 (65,3%) had TB, 470 (34,7%) (according definition as 2020). All them received within standard regimen 24–26 weeks. Results. According results, MDR/XDR sputum conversion was achieved 79,6% (95% CI 75,1–83,4) cases, effective observed 82,0% 78,6–84.9) cases. Treatment default noted 8,7% 5,7–13,1) At same time, there is statistically significant relationship ( p <0,01) between proportion comorbidities incomplete treatment. Lethal outcomes recorded 5,8% 3,6–9,2), associated severe course concomitant pathology. Bedaquiline canceled 7,8% 4,0–13,5) When analyzing separately, efficacy differed amounted 89,9% 85,9–92,9) versus 71,9% 66,3–76,8), respectively.

A random effects meta-analysis model with Box-Cox transformation

BACKGROUND In a random effects meta-analysis model, true treatment effects for each study are routinely assumed to follow a normal distribution. However, normality is a restrictive assumption and the misspecification of the random effects distribution may result in a misleading estimate of overall mean for the treatment effect, an inappropriate quantification of heterogeneity across studies and...

Tobacco control in the Russian Federation- a policy analysis

BACKGROUND The Russian Federation (Russia) has one of the highest smoking rates in the world. The purpose of this study is to analyze past and current trends of the tobacco epidemic in the Russian Federation, review current tobacco control policy responses, and identify areas of opportunity for policy priorities. METHODS We used a policy triangle as analytical framework to examine content, co...

A Bayesian Semi-Parametric Model for Random Effects Meta-Analysis

In meta-analysis there is an increasing trend to explicitly acknowledge the presence of study variability through random effects models. That is, one assumes that for each study, there is a study-specific effect and one is observing an estimate of this latent variable. In a random effects model, one assumes that these study-specific effects come from some distribution, and one can estimate the ...
