Abstract Lithium-ion batteries have become the primary battery technology used for electric and hybrid vehicles powertrains. Battery temperature, however, is a critical factor these devices, as it influences performance life-time safety must be preferably kept in 15-35 °C range. A dynamic electro-thermal model of lithium iron phosphate was developed. The predicts voltage temperature evolution different operating conditions. equivalent circuit (ECM) with an open source, ohmic resistance capacitor-resistor pair series adopted. state-of-charge determined by Coulomb counting approach computed carrying out energy balance cell. takes into account difference between heat generated within cell loss to environment. Finally controller, which cools or heats order keep its desired range, case pack plug-in powertrain during WLTP cycle simulated result environmental conditions are presented.
