Baton Rouge—A Neopragmatic Regional Geographic Approach

The present contribution to a neopragmatic approach regional geography attempts collect, structure, and reflect knowledge with different spatial, social, cultural references. This is not matter of designing classical or landscape “compartmentalization” distinct spatial units, which are characterized by specific reciprocal shaping culture the initial physical substrate, but investigating reflecting influences levels scale as well construction mechanisms contingency units. By means “theoretical” also empirical “triangulation”, differentiated picture complex research objects—here Baton Rouge, LA—is generated, whereby (partial) contradictions between theoretical approaches relationship various appropriately chosen theories equally well-chosen methods accepted.
