Vector Meson Propagator and Baryon Current Conservation
If baryons couple only with ω-mesons, one found the baryon spectral function may be negative. We show this unacceptable result is caused by the kμkν-terms in the ω-meson propagator. Their contribution may not vanish in approximate calculations, though the baryon current conserves. A rule is suggested, by which the calculated baryon spectral function is well behaved. PACS: 21.60. متن کاملBaryon chiral perturbation theory
We provide an introduction to the power-counting issue in baryon chiral perturbation theory and discuss some recent developments in the manifestly Lorentz-invariant formulation of the one-nucleon sector. As explicit applications we consider the chiral expansion of the nucleon mass, its convergence properties, and calculations of the electromagnetic and axial form factors of the nucleon.
متن کاملThe η′ in baryon chiral perturbation theory
We include in a systematic way the η′ in baryon chiral perturbation theory. The most general relativistic effective Lagrangian describing the interaction of the lowest lying baryon octet with the Goldstone boson octet and the η′ is presented up to linear order in the derivative expansion and its heavy baryon limit is obtained. As explicit examples, we calculate the baryon masses and the πN σ-te...
متن کاملBaryon-baryon interactions in large NC chiral perturbation theory.
Interactions of two baryons are considered in large NC chiral perturbation theory and compared to the interactions derived from the Skyrme model. Special attention is given to a torus-like configuration known to be present in the Skyrme model.
