چکیده

Cosmic rays (CRs) have been studied extensively in the last century to understand processes universe as well solar system. In today's satellite era, although many observations are made from space, CR ground still viewed an important tool. These observations, however, mostly detect secondary cosmic (SCRs) such neutron, muon, and gamma. It is known that atmospheric pressure plays role SCR flux observed on ground. Barometric correction standard practice for neutron monitor (NM) data. However, no applied gamma-ray, being massless. But affects particles $e^{\pm}$, $\mu^{\pm}$, which produce gamma cascade. Subsequently, indirect dependence of gamma-ray can be anticipated. We examine this aspect detail by studying counts detected NaI (Tl) detector. The present study confirms there correlation between total collected all energies. scenario differs when fluxes different energies investigated separately. energy below $\sim$3 MeV primarily due radioactivity originating ground, whereas above 3 mainly produced anti-correlated with hence need corrected. demonstrated applying barometric formula successfully removes MeV. Therefore, we suggest data needs corrected local variations.

Geosat Observations of Sea Level Response to Barometric Pressure Forcing

Altimeter and sea level pressure data from the Geosat mission are analyzed for evidence of inverted barometer response of sea level to atmospheric pressure forcing. Estimates of the inverted barometer coeecient are given for a variety of geographic regions and time scales using various orbit error removal strategies. There is some sensitivity to the orbit error removal method, but the estimated...

What Are Gamma-Ray Bursts? The Unique Role of Very High Energy Gamma-Ray Observations

Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have been an enigma since their discovery forty years ago. However, considerable progress unraveling their mysteries has been made in recent years. Developments in observations, theory, and instrumentation have prepared the way so that the next decade can be the one in which we finally answer the question, “What are gamma-ray bursts?” This question encompasses not only w...

Gamma Ray Pulsars: Observations

High-energy gamma rays are a valuable tool for studying particle acceleration and radiation in the magnetospheres of energetic pulsars. The six or more pulsars seen by CGRO/EGRET show that: the light curves usually have double-peak structures (suggesting a broad cone of emission); gamma rays are frequently the dominant component of the radiated power; and all the spectra show evidence of a high...

Application of FLUKA code to gamma-ray attenuation, energy deposition and dose calculations

Background: In radiation therapy, water is the phantom material of choice, both for reference and for relative dosimetry measurements. Solid phantoms, however, are more useful for routine measurements because they tend to be more robust and easier to set up than water phantoms. Materials and Methods: FLUKA input data cards have been arranged in sequential order. A simple cylindrical geometry wi...
