Bark proportion of Scots pine industrial wood

چکیده
Abstract Bark characteristics are not only used in the forest-wood supply chain, for example to calculate standing volumes, but also transform wood volumes and masses. In this study, bark thickness, volume mass were analyzed on basis of 150 Scots pine discs, with a mean diameter 13 cm. The double thickness was 3.02 mm, proportion 5.6% 3.3%. proportions significantly affected by log-specific variables ‘diameter over bark’, ‘proportion damage’ ‘double thickness’.

متن کاملInfluence of Post-extraction on Photostability of Thermally Modified Scots Pine Wood during Artificial Weathering
The photo-stabilizing effect of post-extraction was evaluated for thermally modified wood. Extracted and non-extracted thermally modified Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) samples were exposed in a xenon weather-ometer for 1008 h, and the surface color and chemical changes were characterized using a chroma meter, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), an...
متن کاملPeculiar traits of wood in a leaning stem of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.)
The paper analyses biometrical and anatomical traits of wood in a leaning stem of pine trees. For study purpose, five pine trees (Pinus sylvestris L.) with a visibly leaning stem were chosen. Wood samples were taken at three different stem heights, that is, below the stem curvature, at the curvature and above the curvature. Microscopic specimens were prepared and used for the following measurem...
متن کاملInfluence of wood ash on soil chemical composition and biochemical parameters of young Scots pine
Short-term effects of different doses (0.25 and 0.5 kg m) of wood ash fertilization in a field experiment in a 20-year-old Scots pine stand on a nutrient-poor sandy soil (Arenosol) was studied in North Estonia. Soil chemical properties, nutrient accumulation, soluble carbohydrates, starch, hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin were used as biochemical indicators for the assessment of the state o...
