چکیده
Conservation biological control involves manipulation of the environment to enhance effectiveness natural enemies in controlling crop pests. In this study, we combined historical data, sticky trap sampling tomato greenhouses and beat adjacent vegetation identify which greenhouse characteristics, habitat management practices landscape features favour an early colonisation by key mirid predator Macrolophus pygmaeus its establishment NE Spain. Results show that composition use Calendula officinalis banker plants inside are factors. general, greater amounts herbaceous semi-natural cover at scale promoted M. colonisation, while C. encouraged independently context. We identified host sustain populations; however, they did not have a major effect on compared larger plant effects. Early species also translated into lower accumulated incidence pests end period. This study demonstrates importance active promoting arrival with delayed spontaneous colonisation.

Functional Responses of Three Neotropical Mirid Predators to Eggs of Tuta absoluta on Tomato
Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) has quickly developed into a significant tomato pest worldwide. While the recently found mirid predators Macrolophus basicornis (Stal), Engytatus varians (Distant) and Campyloneuropsis infumatus (Carvalho) of this pest are able to establish and reproduce on tomato, biological knowledge of these mirids is still limited. Here we describe the functional response of the thre...

The whiteflies Bemisia tabaci Gennadius and Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) are two of the main pests in tomato crops. Their biological control in Mediterranean IPM systems is based on the predators Macrolophus pygmaeus (Rambur) and Nesidiocoris tenuis Reuter (Hemiptera: Miridae), as well as on the parasitoids Eretmocerus mundus (Mercet) and Encarsia pergandiella H...

Alternative control of Tetranychus evansi Baker & Pritchard (Acari: Tetranychidae) on tomato plants grown in greenhouses.
Tetranychus evansi Baker & Pritchard is an important pest of solanaceous plants, including tomatoes. This mite is characterized by a high reproductive rate, which leads to high population growth in a short period of time causing important economic damage. Control of T. evansi is mainly through synthetic acaricides. In searching for environmentally friendly control measures, we evaluated the eff...

The objective of this study was to evaluate insecticide toxicity on Bemisia tabaci, Tetranychus evansi, Orius insidiosus, Cycloneda sanguinea and Chauliognathus flavipes in tomato plants. The following toxicity treatments were applied: T1: control, T2: chlorpyrifos (Pitcher) 450 EC (1.25 L.ha), T3: chlorpyrifos 450 EC (Pitcher) (0.62 L.ha), T4: thiamethoxam 100 WG (1.00 L.ha), T5: thiamethoxam ...
