چکیده

Cadmium (Cd) has attained top priority among all the toxic trace elements, and it easily accumulates in human body through various pathways. The current pot study was focused on impacts of foliar spray zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) (0, 50, 75, 100 mg·L−1), alone or combined with soil-applied bamboo biochar (1.0% w/w), maize growth Cd Zn accumulations grains under Cd-contaminated soil. results showed that maize-growth, photosynthesis, gas-exchange attributes were accelerated by foliar-applied ZnO NPs, this effect further enhanced application combination NPs. All amendments decreased electrolyte leakage (EL) malondialdehyde (MDA) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) contents, they activities antioxidant enzymes leaves roots more than control. concentrations shoots 74.55%, 66.38%, 76.19% after a mg·L−1 concluded NPs is feasible strategy for safely growing crops soils.

Remediation of soil co-contaminated with pyrene and cadmium by growing maize (Zea mays L.)

Sites co-contaminated with organic and metal pollutants are common and considered to be a more complex problem as the two components often causes a synergistic effect on cytotoxicity. Phytoremediation has been proposed as a cost-effective technology for treating heavy metal or organic contamination and may be suitable for remediation of co-contaminated soil. This study investigated the concurre...

Evaluation of Dissipation Mechanisms for Pyrene by Maize (zea Mays L.) in Cadmium Co-contaminated Soil

Sites co-contaminated with organic and metal pollutants are common and considered to be a more complex problem, as the two components often have a synergistic effect on cytotoxicity. This study investigated the dissipation mechnisms for pyrene in cadmium co-contaminated soil in which maize (ZEA MAYS L.) was grown in a greenhouse experiment. Results showed the growth response of maize may be aff...

Prospective Zinc Solubilising Bacteria for Enhanced Nutrient Uptake and Growth Promotion in Maize (Zea mays L.)

Zinc (Zn) is one of the essential micronutrients required for optimum plant growth. Substantial quantity of applied inorganic zinc in soil is converted into unavailable form. Zinc solubilising bacteria are potential alternates for zinc supplement. Among 10 strains screened for Zn solubilisation, P29, P33, and B40 produced 22.0 mm clear haloes on solid medium amended with ZnCO3. Similarly, P17 a...

Influence of Zinc and Cadmium on Physiological and Biochemical Characteristics of Maize (Zea mays L.)

This research was carried out as pod cultivation to evaluate effect of different level of zinc and cadmium on agro physiological traits of Maize via factorial experiment based on completelly randomized design with three replications along 2012-2013. The factors included different level of Zinc (Zn1=0 or Control, Zn2=15 and Zn3=30 mg.kg-1) and Cadmium (Cd1=0 or control, Cd2=10, Cd3=20 and Cd4=30...

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
