چکیده
Background Scutellaria baicalensis is an important medicinal plant used in China. Several compounds have been extracted from S. using modern techniques. Baicalin, active ingredient of baicalensis, widely clinically. However, its clinical use limited owing to poor oral bioavailability and intestinal absorption. Objectives To evaluate the anti-tumor effect baicalin magnesium salt (BA-MG, a novel form with superior water solubility) on human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line, HepG2. Materials Methods Seven groups were established, including three dosages BA-MG (200, 250, 300 µg/mL), baicalin, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) (negative control), sulfate control groups. Cell proliferation was determined counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay. cycle apoptosis detected by flow cytometry. migration scratch Protein expression western blotting. Results In vitro, inhibited proliferation, reduced cloning abilities, induced arrest, promoted HepG2 cells (all p < 0.05). The effects migration, cycle, may be attributed decreasing Bcl-2, ROCK-1, proliferating nuclear antigen (PCNA), cyclin E, as well increasing Bax caspase-9. efficacy that at same dose. Conclusion showed inhibiting inducing liver cancer cells.

Juglone exerts antitumor effect in ovarian cancer cells
Objective(s): Juglone is isolated from many species of the Juglandaceae family and used as an anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-tumor therapeutic. Here, we evaluated juglone-induced antitumor effect in ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells. Materials and Methods: MTT assay was performed to examine juglone anti-proliferative effect. Cell cycle and apoptosis were studied using flow cytometry in juglone-t...

متن کاملAnti-proliferative effect of allicin on human hepatoma HepG2 cells
To investigate the factors influencing the supercritical CO2 extraction of garlic oil, and to explore the inhibitory effect of allicin on human hepatoma HepG2 cell growth. Appropriate combination of process parameters for supercritical CO2 extraction of garlic oil was identified through orthogonal experiment. Human hepatoma HepG2 cells were cultured in vitro, and changes in growth of allicin-tr...

متن کاملArteether Exerts Antitumor Activity and Reduces CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ T-reg Cells in Vivo
Background: Chemo-immunotherapy is one of the new achievements for treatment of cancer, by which the success of anti-cancer therapy can be increased. In vitro studies have been shown that Arteether (ARE) induces apoptosis in tumor cells, but not in normal cells. Objective: To investigate the cytotoxic and immunomodulatory properties of Arteether in-vivo and in-vitro. Methods: In this study, we ...
