BaFe1−xNixO3 Catalysts for NOx-Assisted Diesel Soot Oxidation

Abstract In this work, it is analyzed the effect of partial substitution Fe by Ni in a BaFeO 3 perovskite to be used as catalyst for NO x -assisted diesel soot oxidation. A series BaFe 1−x O (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.8) catalysts have been synthesized using sol–gel method. The characterized ICP-OES, XRD, XPS, 2 -TPD, H -TPR- TEM. catalytic activity oxidation determined Temperature Programmed Reaction experiments (NO -TPR Soot-NO -TPR, respectively) isothermal reaction at 450 °C. seems not inserted and, instead that, BaNiO NiO are detected on surface . XPS data reveal coexistence Fe(III) Fe(IV) catalyst’s (being main state) presence oxygen vacancies. All active , showing 0.6 best performance. shows highest proportion nickel combines stability Also, presents initial rate which minimizes accumulation unreacted during reaction.
