چکیده

The clinical impact of β-lactamase has become a public health problem around the world in terms increased morbidity and mortality, especially child population. This study was aimed at determining bacteriological profile detection producing bacteria isolated from blood samples neonates. For this study, total 1335 neonates admitted NICU, SCBU, sepsis-suspected visiting Paropakar Maternity Women’s Hospital, Thapathali, Kathmandu, Nepal were collected processed. Blood culture performed identification done by following standard microbiological methods. Antibiotic susceptibility testing using Kirby Bauer Disk Diffusion method confirmation ESBL, MBL, KPC-producing Combined Test. prevalence rate neonatal sepsis found to be 17%. K. pneumoniae 116 (50.2%) predominant Gram-negative followed oxytoca 31 (13.4%) whereas S. aureus 39 (16.9%) Gram-positive causing sepsis. Among 182 bacterial isolates, 69 (37.9%), 22 (12.1%), 14(31.1%) KPC producers respectively. (54.8%), Enterobacter spp. (25%) Citrobacter (14.3%) co-production also among 5 bacteria. Colistin, Meropenem, Imipenem seem choice drug against bacteria, Vancomycin Cefoxitin Therefore, lessen burden antibiotic resistance, it is essential conduct regular antimicrobial surveillance, periodic reviews hospital settings, early beta-lactamase-producing Int. Phenotypic Detection Of Metallo-beta-lactamase Producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa Strains Isolated From Burned Patients

Background and Objective: Metallo-beta-lactamase (MBL)-mediated resistance is an emerging threat in hospital isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. There is not enough information from Iran regarding the prevalence and the screening methods for such enzymes. The present study was undertaken to detect Metallo betalactamase in strains of P. aeruginosa isolated from burned patien...

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Profile of Extended Spectrum β-Lactamase (ESBL) Producing Escherichia coli from Various Clinical Samples

BACKGROUND Extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) producing Escherichia coli has tremendously increased worldwide and it is one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality associated with hospital-acquired infections. This could be attributed to association of multi drug resistance in ESBL producing isolates. The present study was aimed to determine the antimicrobial sensitivity profile ...

Incidence of Metallo-β-lactamase (mbl) Producing Nonfermenters Isolated from Respiratory Samples in Icu Patients

Nonfermenting gram negative bacilli (NFGNB) cause serious infections in immuncompromised and hospitalized patients. They cause fatal lower respiratory tract infections in patients admitted to ICU’s. The appearance of metallo ß-lactamases (MBL) genes and their spread among bacterial pathogens is a matter of concern. The present study was undertaken to know the prevalence of MBL producing NFGNB.N...
