Axillary and Brachial Artery Thrombosis after Left Radial Access for Coronary Angiography

چکیده
One case of brachial artery occlusion and no cases axillary occlusions have been reported in the literature. Here we describe a 50 years old female who presented for diagnostic coronary angiogram after having positive stress test developed brachial, radial thrombosis left transradial access.

Percutaneous radial artery approach for coronary angiography.
Percutaneous entry into the distal radial artery and selective coronarography using a French 5 sheath and preshaded catheters were attempted in 100 patients with a normal Allen test. Cannulation of the radial artery was not possible in ten patients, and selective catheterization of the coronary arteries was unsuccessful in two. Manipulation of catheters presented no problem, and arterial spasm ...
متن کاملRadial Artery Pseudoaneurysm: A Rare Complication after Transradial Coronary Angiography
The transradial approach has recently been recommended as the first choice to reduce access-site vascular complications during percutaneous coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures [1]. It may be preferred in anticoagulated patients to avoid those vascular complications associated with the femoral approach, which are compounded by systemic anticoagulation [2]. The radial artery pseudoa...

OBJECTIVE To compare radial artery (RA) patency with internal mammary artery (IMA) patency for coronary artery bypass surgery in our early experience. METHODS Symptomatic as well as asymptomatic patients with > or =1 RA coronary graft underwent postoperative angiography. Each anastomosis was considered separately. A string sign referred to a diffusely narrowed conduit, which did not fill the ...
متن کاملSystematic review and cost-benefit analysis of radial artery access for coronary angiography and intervention.
BACKGROUND Radial artery access for coronary angiography and interventions has been promoted for reducing hemostasis time and vascular complications compared with femoral access, yet it can take longer to perform and is not always successful, leading to concerns about its cost. We report a cost-benefit analysis of radial catheterization based on results from a systematic review of published ran...
متن کاملDelayed Sudden Radial Artery Rupture After Left Transradial Coronary Catheterization
Local complications at the radial access site are not frequent, hence its large diffusion as the preferred access route for endovascular procedures. However, in a time of fast widespreading, better comprehension of all potential complications becomes critical to facilitate their early recognition and the most appropriate treatment. In this case report, we present for the first time a case of su...
