Awareness on Nutritional Anemia and its Prevention among Adolescent Girls

Background: Adolescence is the period of rapid growth with physical & physiological development andprofound biological, emotional, social, and cognitive changes in human beings. Nutritional anemia thecommon worldwide public health problem among adolescent girls overall prevalence nutritionalanemia varies from 40-90%. It may produce adverse effects like increased risk morbidity mortalityand affects adolescent’s future health.Objective: This study aimed to assess awareness on nutritional its prevention amongadolescent girls.Method: A non experimental descriptive design was adopted andits at Keezhakasakudi, Karaikal. total 60 between10-15 years age were selected by convenience sampling technique. Data collected using selfstructured interview schedule. Both inferential statistics used analysis gathereddata.Results: The results reported that majority 63% (38) had inadequate awareness,27% (16) moderately adequate only 10% (6) prevention. mean 9.6 standard deviation±2.49. thepresent also revealed there statistically significant association between level onnutritional girls.Conclusion: as major communicable disease contributing negative impacton health, it necessitates need organize counseling programs schools collegeswith much emphasis impact health.
