Awareness and Practices about Skin Care among Medical Students: A cross-sectional study

Introduction: Skin care is defined as practices that help in maintaining the structural and functional integrity of skin. Routine skin focuses on keeping it clean, balanced, protected free from irritation. This can be achieved with a simple regimen including gentle cleansing, moisturising protecting UV rays. Aim: To evaluate awareness regarding among medical students. Materials Methods: was cross-sectional study involving students studying at college Western India. A questionnaire consisting close-ended questions used tool. Data analysed using STATA14 software. Results: The group comprised 300 participants which 201 (67%) were females rest 99 (33%) males. age ranged 17 to 23 years. Ninety-three (31%) felt ideally face should washed twice day, while 153 (51%) having makeup removal before sleep. ideal sunscreen SPF not known by 211 (70.3%) 47 (15.7%) knew 30-50. Awareness physical exercise, yoga meditation improving health seen 235 (78.3%), respectively. adequate sleep healthy diet necessary for reported 261 (87%) 250 (83.3%) students, Total 129 (43%) Over-The-Counter (OTC) products or wash their face, 167 (55.7%) some other cosmetic products, 226 (75.3%) didn’t share others 277 (92.3%) use routinely. Conclusion: Medical need aware about practices, so they educate general public its importance particularly country like India where most population under influence advertisements newspaper television routine care.
