چکیده

Rapid industrial development and innovations in technology bring about the menace of congestion deregulated power systems (DPS). The transmission lines are continuously working under a stressed condition with reduced transfer capacity. In this situation, losses voltage deviations at load buses increased hence reduce system stability. To mitigate congestion, improving available capability (ATC) is one most feasible practical solution. This paper focuses on implementation Thyristor Controlled Series capacitor (TCSC) to by enhancing ATC via reducing losses. AC Power Transfer Distribution Factor (ACPTDF) applied calculate find location TCSC. optimize TCSC parameter (reactance), Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) proposed present work. optimization validated IEEE 30 Bus system. results matching obtained through standard grey wolf (GWO) particle swarm (PSO) techniques. show that despite two antagonistic objectives enhancement loss reduction, TLBO outperformed other techniques different contingency conditions. overall for bilateral transactions enhanced 11.86%. Further active reactive 16.7% 29.6% DPS.
