Autoregressive Distributed Lag Modeling of Climate and Non-climatic Determinants Affecting Cereal Production: Empirical Evidence from Somalia

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study investigates the impact of climate and non-climate factors on cereal production in Somalia from 1990 to 2019. The used Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) modeling approach analyze effect CO2, temperature, rainfall, land under production, rural population production. employed ARDL model determine long-run short-run effects variables. results indicate that all variables negatively impacted except for which had a positive both short long run. These findings suggest policymakers should prioritize investment management practices increase Somalia. study's have important implications stakeholders agricultural sector, highlighting need sustainable use policies change adaptation measures ensure country's food security.

Factor Augmented Autoregressive Distributed Lag Models

This paper proposes a factor augmented autoregressive distributed lag (FADL) framework for analyzing the dynamic effects of common and idiosyncratic shocks. We first estimate the common shocks from a large panel of data with a strong factor structure. Impulse responses are then obtained from an autoregression, augmented with a distributed lag of the estimated common shocks. The approach has thr...

The Impact of Government Education Expenditures on the Human Development Index in ‎Iran: Autoregressive Distributed Lag

In recent years, the inclusion of human development in the country's development plans shows the importance of the human development index for policy-making and planning. One of the important factors that can play a great role in improving the human development index is education. In this regard, The present study tries to investigate the effect of educational expenditures in higher, secondary ...

An Autoregressive Distributed Lag Modelling Approach to Cointegration Analysis¤

This paper examines the use of autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) models for the analysis of long-run relations when the underlying variables are I(1). It shows that after appropriate augmentation of the order of the ARDL model, the OLS estimators of the short-run parameters are p T -consistent with the asymptotically singular covariance matrix, and the ARDL-based estimators of the long-run ...

Distributed lag non-linear models

Environmental stressors often show effects that are delayed in time, requiring the use of statistical models that are flexible enough to describe the additional time dimension of the exposure-response relationship. Here we develop the family of distributed lag non-linear models (DLNM), a modelling framework that can simultaneously represent non-linear exposure-response dependencies and delayed ...

Climate change effects on economic growth: mixed empirical evidence

West Africa is vulnerable to the effects of climate change. This paper analyzed the impacts of climate change on economic growth in Anglophone West Africa with similar background, during the periods 1969-2016. Five growth model equations have been developed to incorporate climate change variables into the model. Panel data estimations such as the fixed effect model, random effect model and Haus...
