Authoring consistent landscapes with flora and fauna

چکیده
We present a novel method for authoring landscapes with flora and fauna while considering their mutual interactions. Our algorithm outputs steady-state ecosystem in the form of density maps each species, daily circuits, modified terrain eroded trails from terrain, climatic conditions, species related biological information. introduce Resource Access Graph, new data structure that encodes both interactions between food chain levels animals traveling resources over terrain. A competition operating on this progressively computes solution up chain, plants to carnivores. The user can explore resulting landscape, where are instantiated fly, interactively edit it by over-painting maps. results show our system enables consistent impact wildlife is visible through animated animals, clearings vegetation, trails. provide quantitative validation existing ecosystems user-study expert paleontologist end-users, showing them author compare different illustrating climate changes same enabling relevant visual immersion into landscapes.

Learning from Semantic Flora & Fauna
We argue that for a personal agent working within a Semantic Web framework, machine learning is essential. We identify two topologies in the Semantic Web, and refer to these as: (1) semantic forests (disjoint trees) and (2) true semantic webs (complex interconnected graphs). An example of (1) is Citeseer BibTeX mapped to RDF; an example of (2) is FOAF, an RDF representation of people and their ...
متن کاملNutrient Effects on Spring Flora and Fauna
Many of Florida’s springs and spring runs are enriched in nitrate due to broad-scale contamination of groundwater supplies. This observation fosters two primary and interrelated concerns regarding the effects of nutrients on flora and fauna in spring systems. High nitrate concentrations can affect fauna directly through toxicity. In addition, high nitrate concentrations can promote eutrophicati...
متن کاملFLORA, FAUNA, AND PALEOECOLOGY OF THE Brazil Formation of Indiana
PALEONTOLOGY AND THE EXPLOITATION of natural resources, particularly coal and limestone, have an old and firmly established connection. This is especially important in deposits of Pennsylvanian age, where coal mining has helped to fill the collection drawers of museums and universities across North America and Europe. Unlike most natural exposures, those created by mining frequently reveal whol...
