چکیده

Maraging steels are precipitation hardening alloys that can achieve an ultra-high yield strength (~3 GPa), however associated with low toughness. During exposure to high temperatures, oxidation process occurs on the surface of these steels, generally, oxides formed hematite and/or magnetite. The aim this study was investigate a maraging 13Ni15Co10Mo at annealing temperature 900 °C. bulk microstructure investigated by several complementary techniques and oxidized characterized Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) Diffraction (XRD). results showed microstructure, annealed condition, consists lath martensite hardness round 400 HV. most external contains hematite, magnetite kamiokite. Finally, presence austenite detected in first 2 μm below surface. Chemical microanalysis indicated is stable room region due composition gradient makes rich nickel cobalt. atom diffusion during formation. Fatigue Properties of the Ultra-High Strength Steel TM210A

This paper presents the results of an experiment to investigate the high cycle fatigue properties of the ultra-high strength steel TM210A. A constant amplitude rotating bending fatigue experiment was performed at room temperature at stress ratio R = -1. In order to evaluate the notch effect, the fatigue experiment was carried out upon two sets of specimens, smooth and notched, respectively. In ...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Gaussian Process Modelling of Austenite Formation in Steel

We introduce the Gaussian process model for the empirical modelling of the formation of austenite during the continuous heating of steels. A previous paper has examined the application of neural networks to this problem, but the Gaussian process model is a more general probabilistic model which avoids some of the arbitrariness of neural networks, and is somewhat more amenable to interpretation....

Notch fatigue behavior: Metallic glass versus ultra-high strength steel

Studying the effect of notch on the fatigue behavior of structural materials is of significance for the reliability and safety designing of engineering structural components. In this work, we conducted notch fatigue experiments of two high-strength materials, i.e. a Ti32.8Zr30.2Ni5.3Cu9Be22.7 metallic glass (MG) and a 00Ni18Co15Mo8Ti ultra-high strength steel (CM400 UHSS), and compared their no...

Combining gradient structure and TRIP effect to produce austenite stainless steel with high strength and ductility

We report a design strategy to combine the benefits from both gradient structure and transformationinduced plasticity (TRIP). The resultant TRIP-gradient steel takes advantage of both mechanisms, allowing strain hardening to last to a larger plastic strain. 304 stainless steel sheets were treated by surface mechanical attrition to synthesize gradient structure with a central coarse-grained laye...
