Audit of head and neck defect reconstruction.

Objective: To share our experience with reconstruction of the head and neck defects to standardize options for such defects. Study Design: Descriptive Cross Sectional study. Setting: Burns Plastic Surgery Center, Peshawar. Period: November 2018 December 2022. Material & Methods: Data was collected from medical records about patient demographics, mechanism injury type procedures done. Defect size classified into small (< 3 cm), medium (4 cm 8 cm) large (> cm). analyzed using SPSS. Results: Over study period, 112 (70%) male 48 (30%) female patients, mean age 44.36 + 21.35, were operated. The main cause defects, malignant lesions; 60% (n=96) cases. most common site nose, either alone or in combination surrounding areas. In 54 (33.4%) cases, reconstructed size, followed by (n=52, 32.5%). 79 (49.4%) local flaps, pedicled flaps; 70 (43.8%) Free flap performed 11 (6.9%) free fibula based (n=4). Complications observed 4.4% Conclusion: region are on nose. cases etiology is lesion excision. Other encountered scalp, eyelids ear. Most can be covered flaps very low complication rate.
